Occurred the most disproportionately in hexagons with more than 4%
wetlands and wet shrubland and varied topography. Occurred almost as
much in hexagons with 1-3% wetlands and wet shrubland, elevation
(hex. avg.) of 1204-2002 ft., and June precipitation (hex. max.) of 32-
154 mm. Also occurred in hexagons with less area of wetlands and wet
shrubland and with April minimum temperature (hex. avg.) of -5.68 to
-1.98� C or, secondarily, April minimum temperature (hex. avg.) of -
1.98 to 1.53� C. The logistic regression analysis showed positive or
negative association with wetlands and wet shrubland, number of land
cover types, elevation (hex. avg.), topographic variation, the extent of
public land, and April minimum temperature (hex. max.).
